What a Thursday Night Looks Like
Ladies social pickleball is one of the regular nights on the Texas Pickleball calendar. You register ahead on CourtReserve, arrive a few minutes before 7:00 to get settled, and play in hourly sessions, with snacks and drinks between games.
Expect real games, but the room is just as much about the people as the scoreboard. Some women come to sharpen their game and others come to meet someone who plays in the same neighborhood. If you’re new to the area, a standing weekly night makes that easy.
Is It Okay If You’re New to Pickleball?
Yes. The Thursday social is built to be approachable for newer players while still giving regulars real court time, and no prior experience is required.
If you’d like to learn the basics before your first night, the free beginner session covers rules, scoring, court positioning and essential shots with a coach. If you want to keep building from there, there are beginner, intermediate and advanced clinics, plus private coaching. Curious what the sport does for fitness? Here’s the honest answer on whether pickleball is a good workout. To understand the rules ahead of time, the USA Pickleball site is the sport’s official rules source.
How to Sign Up
- Create a CourtReserve account (online or in the app).
- Choose the free Drop-In Membership. You pay only when you play. If you expect to come regularly, compare membership vs. pay-as-you-play or see the membership options.
- Open the Thursday ladies social on our events page or go straight to the CourtReserve listing.
- Register. Bringing a friend? Ask her to register for the same Thursday session.
What to Wear and Bring
- Clean, non-marking athletic shoes. Court shoes (pickleball or tennis) give the best side-to-side support, and heavy-tread shoes can grip the court surface awkwardly.
- Comfortable athletic clothing you can move and swing in.
- Water. You’re on court for hourly sessions.
- A paddle, if you have one. If you don’t, Texas Pickleball offers complimentary paddle use during sessions.
Why an Indoor Night Works in North Texas
The facility has eight indoor courts with cushioned acrylic surfaces and is climate controlled at 72°F year-round. A Thursday in July heat or a January cold snap plays the same, so your night out doesn’t get rained out or wind-blown. See the facility page for more on the courts.
